Sleep Quality Score

Athlytic’s Sleep Quality score provides a comprehensive evaluation of your nightly rest, going beyond just sleep duration. Instead of focusing solely on how long you sleep, Athlytic analyzes multiple factors to give you a holistic insight into your sleep health.

What Factors Influence Sleep Quality?

Your Sleep Quality score is based on:

✔️ Sleep Stress – Measures fluctuations in heart rate and HRV during sleep to detect stress levels.

✔️ Restorative Sleep – Evaluates the amount of REM and deep sleep you get each night.

✔️ Awake Time & Interruptions – Tracks how often and for how long you wake up during the night.

✔️ Respiratory Rate – Monitors your breathing consistency during sleep.

✔️ Sleep Duration – While not heavily weighted, it does play a role in determining overall sleep quality.

✔️ Blood Oxygen Levels (SpO₂) – Helps detect potential breathing irregularities (only available on supported Apple Watch models).

Please note, if your Apple Watch does not support Blood Oxygen tracking, this metric will not be included in your Sleep Quality score. The same applies if Respiratory Rate data is missing.

3rd-Party Sleep Tracking Wearables or Apps

You can set your 'Preferred Sleep Tracker' in the More tab in Athlytic.

If you’re using a third-party app or device that does not sync Sleep Stage data (REM and deep sleep) to Apple Health, your Sleep Quality score will be based only on:

Sleep Stress

Sleep Duration

Awake Time & Interruptions

Blood Oxygen Levels (if available)

Respiratory Rate

For the most accurate Sleep Quality score, we recommend using Apple’s native Sleep Tracking on Apple Watch, as it provides full Sleep Stage data.
