Family Sharing
Yes! Athlytic supports Family Sharing at no extra cost for the Pro subscription (annual or monthly). In the future, we may introduce a higher-tier plan with family sharing options, but existing subscribers would be grandfathered in.
How to Set Up Family Sharing for Athlytic
- Ensure Family Sharing is set up on your iPhone. Follow Apple’s guide: Set Up Family Sharing.
- Verify that subscriptions are shared by following Apple’s instructions: Share Subscriptions with Family Members.
- In iOS 16 or later, go to Settings → Tap your name → Family Sharing to confirm that Athlytic appears under shared subscriptions.
Common Issues & Fixes
Subscription Not Appearing on Family Member’s Device
Wait at least an hour. Apple’s system can take time to sync purchases across devices.
- If it has been over an hour:
- Force quit the Athlytic app and reopen it.
- Go to More tab → Restore Purchase to manually refresh the subscription.
- Force quit the Athlytic app again and reopen it.
This forces Athlytic to check for an active shared subscription.
If the subscription is still locked:
Step 1: Verify That Athlytic is Being Shared
On the device that purchased the subscription:
- Open Settings on iPhone.
- Tap Apple ID (your name at the top) → Family Sharing.
- Tap Subscriptions → Check that Athlytic is listed as shared.
On the family member’s device:
- Open Settings → Apple ID (name at the top) → Family Sharing.
- Tap Subscriptions and verify that Athlytic is listed.
Step 2: Restore the Purchase in Athlytic
- On the family member’s device, open Athlytic.
- Go to the More tab.
- Tap Restore Purchase.
- Force quit the app and reopen it.
Shared Purchasing Conflicts
If you have “Shared Purchasing” enabled under the same Apple ID, it can cause conflicts.
- Go to Settings → Apple ID → Family Sharing.
- Tap Purchase Sharing → Turn off Shared Purchasing.
- Try Restore Purchase in the More tab of Athlytic again.
Secondary Apple ID Conflicts (Apple Watch & iCloud)
If a secondary Apple ID was used during Apple Watch setup, it may prevent Family Sharing from working properly.
- Check Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases for any secondary Apple IDs.
- Remove any conflicting Apple IDs.
- Try Restore Purchase in the More tab of Athlytic again.
App Store Region Mismatch
Family Sharing will not work if the devices are using different App Store regions.
- On both devices, go to Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → View Account.
- Ensure both are set to the same region.
- If they were different, change them to match and retry Restore Purchase.
