Subscription Not Detected on iPhone
If you’ve subscribed to Athlytic Pro but the app is still locked, follow these troubleshooting steps based on whether the issue is on your iPhone or Apple Watch.
Step 1: Verify Your Subscription in the App Store
- Open the App Store on your iPhone.
- Tap your profile picture (top right).
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Make sure Athlytic is listed as an active subscription.
✔️ If it’s NOT listed → The purchase or renewal did not go through, and you may need to subscribe again.
✔️ If it’s listed but still locked → Try force quitting and reopening the app.
Step 2: Restore Your Purchase on iPhone
- Open Athlytic.
- Go to the More tab.
- Scroll down and tap Restore Purchase.
- Force Quit and reopen Athlytic.
If this does not unlock the subscription, continue with the steps below.
Step 3: Uninstall & Reinstall Athlytic
If the issue persists, uninstall and reinstall Athlytic (you won’t lose any data, as it’s all stored in Apple Health).
- Delete Athlytic from your iPhone (this also removes it from Apple Watch).
- Restart your iPhone.
- Reinstall Athlytic from the App Store.
- Open Athlytic and tap Restore Purchase.
- Force Quit and reopen Athlytic.
Fixing Apple ID Conflicts (Using Two Apple IDs)
Unlike many apps, Athlytic does not require account logins—this means:
✔️ We do not collect or sell your data.
✔️ All your health data remains private and stored locally.
✔️ Your subscription is managed entirely by Apple.
Since Athlytic does not have user logins, we must rely on Apple’s system to verify subscriptions using your Apple ID. If the Apple ID linked to your purchase does not match your App Store login or the ID under Media & Purchases, Apple may prevent the subscription from unlocking.
Steps to Resolve
Step 1: Check Which Apple ID is Linked to Your App Store Purchases
- Open Settings on your iPhone.
- Tap [Your Name] at the top.
- Scroll down and tap Media & Purchases → View Account.
- Take note of the Apple ID listed here and ensure this matches the Apple ID used to purchase a subscription to Athlytic.
Step 2: Switch to the Apple ID That Was Used for Purchase
If your App Store purchase was made under a different Apple ID, you need to switch to that account:
- Open Settings → Tap [Your Name].
- Tap Media & Purchases → Sign Out.
- Sign back in with the Apple ID used for the Athlytic subscription.
Step 3: Restore Purchase in Athlytic
- Open Athlytic.
- Go to the More tab.
- Tap Restore Purchase.
- Force quit the app and reopen it.
Alternative Solutions
If you do not want to switch Apple IDs every time or the above steps did not work, try one of these two methods:
Option 1: Use Family Sharing to Share the Subscription Between Apple IDs
Family Sharing is free with Athlytic.
If you want to keep your current Apple ID for purchases but still use your subscription, you can enable Family Sharing to share the subscription between your Apple IDs.
- Follow Apple’s guide: Set Up Family Sharing.
- Follow Apple’s instructions to Share Subscriptions with Family Members.
- Allow a few hours for Apple’s servers to sync the purchase.
Option 2: Cancel & Resubscribe with Your Current Apple ID (Request a Refund for the Old Subscription)
If Family Sharing does not work and you do not want to switch Apple IDs, you can cancel the subscription on your old Apple ID and subscribe again using your current account.
- Cancel the subscription on the old Apple ID:
- Open App Store → Tap your profile picture.
- Tap Subscriptions → Select Athlytic → Cancel Subscription.
- Request a refund for the old subscription:
- Go to Apple’s self-service refund portal: Report a Problem.
- Log in with the old Apple ID and request a refund for the unused subscription.
- Resubscribe with your current Apple ID.
Note, this is the easiest solution if you do not want to switch Apple IDs or set up Family Sharing. Apple is typically very good with providing refunds.
If none of these troubleshooting steps resolve the issue, consider reaching out to Athlytic support for further assistance.
