How to Fix Duplicate Workouts in Apple Health & Athlytic
If you’re seeing duplicate workouts in Apple Health or Athlytic, it’s likely because multiple apps are writing workout data to Apple Health at the same time. Fortunately, this can be easily fixed by adjusting Apple Health settings.
Why Are Workouts Duplicating?
This happens when two different apps (such as Apple Workouts, Strava, or a third-party fitness app) are both saving the same workout to Apple Health.
How to Stop Duplicate Workouts from Appearing
Step 1: Turn Off Duplicate Workout Entries in Apple Health
To prevent multiple apps from writing the same workout data to Apple Health:
- Open Apple Health.
- Tap Sharing → Apps.
- Select the app that is causing duplicates (e.g., Strava, Garmin, RunGap, etc.).
- Toggle OFF the ability to write Workouts (and Heart Rate, if also duplicated).
Now, that app will no longer save workouts to Apple Health, but you can still use the app’s features inside its own interface without cluttering your Apple Health data.
How to Delete Duplicate Workouts
If you already have duplicate workouts saved, follow these steps to remove them:
Deleting Workouts Tracked with Athlytic’s Apple Watch App
- Open Athlytic on your iPhone.
- Tap Workouts.
- Tap Show More.
- Swipe left on the workout and tap Delete.
This only works for workouts tracked with Athlytic’s Apple Watch app.
Deleting Other Workouts from Apple Health
- Open Apple Health.
- Tap Browse → Activity → Workouts.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Show All Data.
- Find the duplicate workout and swipe to delete it.
Athlytic cannot delete workouts that it did not create in Apple Health. You must manually remove those from Apple Health.
If none of these troubleshooting steps resolve the issue, consider reaching out to Athlytic support for further assistance.
