Menstrual Cycle Phases Disappeared
If your Menstrual Cycle Phase card has disappeared in Athlytic, it’s usually due to missing or misformatted data in Apple Health.
Step 1: Check for Recent Cycle Data
Have you logged a period in the past ~40 days?
If not, the Cycle Phase card will not appear until new data is recorded.
Step 2: Check your Menstrual Cycle Phase Preferences in Athlytic
- Open Athlytic
- Tap More → Menstrual Cycle Phase Preferences
- Confirm Hide Cycles Phases is toggled off
- Toggle Hide Cycles Phases on then back off to reset
- Force quit the Athlytic app and reopen it.
Step 3: Confirm Biological Sex is Set to Female
Cycle Phase is only available in Athlytic if your biological sex is set to Female in Apple Health:
- Open Apple Health
- Tap your profile icon (top right)
- Tap Health Details
- Confirm that Biological Sex is set to Female
- If needed, tap Edit to update it
Step 4: Check Raw Menstruation Data in Apple Health
- Open Apple Health
- Tap Browse → Cycle Tracking
- Scroll to the bottom and tap View Cycle Tracking Items
- Select Menstruation
- Scroll down and tap Show All Data
- Tap the first day of your recent period (e.g., March 20)
- Check if “Cycle Start” is marked as Yes 👇
If it says No, then Apple Health isn’t recognizing that date as the start of your cycle. Athlytic uses this flag to determine when to begin the Menstrual Phase.
How to fix:
- Go back to the Menstruation screen
- Tap Add Data (top right corner)
- Re-enter the same date and toggle “Cycle Start” to Yes
- Tap Add
This should restore your Cycle Phase card.
Some third-party apps occasionally write incorrect data to Apple Health such as not labeling your cycle start. If this happens repeatedly:
Use Apple’s built-in Cycle Tracking widget directly to log your period along with your chosen cycle tracking app.
Step 5: Check Apple Health Permissions
Make sure Athlytic has permission to read menstruation and cycle tracking data:
- Open Apple Health
- Tap the Sharing tab
- Tap Apps → Athlytic
- Make sure Menstruation and related items are turned ON under “Allow Athlytic to Read Data”.
- Force quit the Athlytic app and reopen it.
Final Step: Delete and Reinstall
If all else fails, try deleting and reinstalling Athlytic:
- Delete the Athlytic app from your iPhone
- Reinstall it from the App Store
- Open the app and re-enable Apple Health permissions when prompted
This can help clear any cached or stuck data sync issues. All of your data is stored on device so you do not need to worry about any data getting lost when reinstalling.
If none of these troubleshooting steps resolve the issue, consider reaching out to Athlytic support for further assistance.
